Bargarh is set to witness an important youth leadership event as the India's International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) brings its internationally recognized Model United Nations conference to the city. The three-day council will be organized from 10th April to 12th April, in association with several local schools, aiming to engage and inspire young students through dialogue, debate, and leadership activities.
IIMUN, widely regarded as one of the largest youth-led organizations in the world, works towards sensitizing young people to global issues while encouraging them to develop leadership qualities rooted in Indian values. The organization provides a platform where students can discuss and analyze pressing global challenges, preparing them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
Over the years, IIMUN has significantly expanded its reach, operating in more than 275 cities across 40 countries and impacting the lives of nearly 75 million students through its Model United Nations conferences and educational initiatives.
The upcoming Bargarh City Council will begin with a grand inauguration ceremony, bringing together students, educators, and young participants from diverse backgrounds. The event aims to encourage the youth of the region to actively participate in discussions and represent their city while gaining valuable exposure to international diplomacy and global affairs.
During the three-day educational conference, students will participate in committee sessions, where they will simulate United Nations discussions by representing different countries and debating various local, national, and international issues. These sessions are designed to strengthen participants’ skills in critical thinking, public speaking, leadership, and negotiation.
Organizers believe that such platforms not only enhance students’ confidence but also help them develop a deeper understanding of global challenges and the importance of collaboration in solving them.
The conference will conclude with a closing ceremony, where outstanding delegates from each committee will be recognized and honored for their contributions during the debates and discussions.
The arrival of IIMUN in Bargarh marks a significant step in expanding opportunities for students in the region to participate in global platforms of learning and leadership.
