MP Pradip Purohit Demands Immediate Start of Land Acquisition for Bargarh-Nuapada Rail Project
Bargarh, December 16
Bargarh MP Pradip Purohit has urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to expedite the land acquisition process for the Bargarh-Nuapada Rail Project. He also appealed to the minister to ensure the completion of the project within the stipulated time frame.
During the Zero Hour in Parliament, Purohit highlighted the importance of the project, emphasizing its potential to drive the development of Western Odisha, create employment opportunities, and improve transportation facilities for local residents.
He further stated that the rail project would promote the art, culture, and literature of the region while boosting trade and commerce.
The 138-kilometer-long rail project has been pending for years, despite repeated demands from the public. The central government has sanctioned a budget of ₹2,926 crore for the project.
Purohit expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their support and funding of the project.
