Bargarh Dhanu Yatra: Rehearsals Begin
Bargarh, known for hosting the world’s largest open-air theatre, is gearing up for the grand Dhanu Yatra festival, which will commence on January 3 and continue till January 13. The 11-day-long cultural extravaganza marks a significant event in the region's calendar.
Rehearsals for the festival began on Monday at the Kalyan Mandap near Gandhi Chowk in Bargarh. Various artists gathered to fine-tune their performances ahead of the festival.
Prominent attendees included Additional District Magistrate Mahendra Mahapatra, Secretary of the Dhanu Yatra Committee Sureshwar Satapathy, and members of the Artists' Advisory Committee, such as Ashok Behera, Nakul Badi, Bhuvan Bhoi, and Prashant Mahapatra, along with District Information and Public Relations Officer Prahallad Khosla.
Actor Bhubaneswar Pradhan, who plays the role of King Kansa, participated in the rehearsals alongside other artists, marking the official start of preparations for the festival.
The Dhanu Yatra festival is a symbol of Bargarh's rich cultural heritage, attracting thousands of visitors from across the country and beyond.
