Bargarh, November 27, 2024: The seventh day of the 21st Bargarh Book Fair, organized by Bargarh Gandhi Smriti Library, witnessed a vibrant evening filled with cultural performances presented by students from various schools across the district. The event, held at the George High School ground, was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Jyotkant Sahu, Additional District Education Officer and the event chairman.

Students from prominent schools, including Godbhaga Janata High School, Bhatli Gopalpur Ashram School, Bheden Garvana UGUP School, Turunga UP School, Sohela Budamal Government UP School, Jamurda UP School, Nishamani High School, Barahgoda UP School, Rana Pratap High School, Tora Sugar Mill UP School, Barpadar High School, Ambapali High School, Khajur Tikra UP School, Girls’ High School, George High School, and Town High School, showcased mesmerizing performances that enthralled the audience.

A special performance by the George High School band was the highlight of the evening, leaving a lasting impression on attendees. The event was graced by the presence of Vijay Kumar Nag, a professor from Panchayat College, as the chief guest, along with keynote speaker Dr. B.O.

Notable personalities in attendance included Surendra Sahu, Bheden BEO Mahendra Mallik, George High School Principal Sashwati Das, retired teacher Satish Panda, and Bhatli BEO Saroj Bhoi.

The day also featured a quiz competition conducted by Principal Shiv Shankar Das. The top positions were bagged by Bargarh Block, Bhatli Block, and Attabira Block, securing the first, second, and third places, respectively.

The cultural programs were efficiently anchored by Govind Seth, Rita Pradhan, and Rashmi Rani Nand, while the overall event coordination was managed by Bhargav Nayak, Jagdanand Jal, Birendra Dash, and Arvind Gupta.

The Bargarh Book Fair continues to be a hub of cultural, educational, and intellectual activities, celebrating the vibrant spirit of the district.
