Blood and Eye Donation Camp Organized by Seva Bharati and Saksham Parivar in Bargarh
A blood and eye donation camp was successfully organized today at Kuturapali village under the Ambabhona block of Bargarh district. The event was jointly conducted by Seva Bharati, Bargarh District, and Saksham Parivar.
The chief guests included Dr. Shankar Ramachandani, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Bhimsar Burla and Vice-Chairperson of Seva Bharati Odisha, and Shri Hrushikesh Nag, Organization Secretary of Seva Bharati Odisha West. Other notable dignitaries present were Shri Meghnath Sahu (Coordinator, Saksham Parivar Bargarh), Shri Sukadev Bishwal (Secretary, Seva Bharati Bargarh), Shri Balaram Thakur, Shri Mohanlal Deheri (Sarpanch of Kumbho), Prem Sagar Deheri, Dr. Amarjeet Mohanty (Bargarh District Hospital), and Shri Saroj Deheri (Camp Organizer).
During the event, the guests emphasized the importance of blood and eye donation, highlighting how blood donation can save lives and eye donation can restore vision for the visually impaired. They also urged the public to participate actively in such noble initiatives to eliminate blood shortages and bring light to those suffering from blindness.
A special moment during the event was when Mrs. Gauri Deheri became the first donor to pledge her eyes. The Coordinator of Saksham Parivar, Shri Sahu, expressed gratitude to Mrs. Deheri for her inspiring gesture.
The camp collected 40 units of blood, and 8 individuals pledged to donate their eyes. The event was conducted smoothly, with Shri Saroj Deheri thanking all participants and volunteers for their contribution to the program's success.
